DePaul University

College of Computing and Digital Media

Who Are We?

DePaul was recently named a top film school by both The Hollywood Reporter and Variety for giving students real-world opportunities to work on Chicago’s film and television sets. Film and Television students take classes and work on their projects at DePaul’s 32,000 square foot professional production facility at Cinespace, next door to the production of high-profile series like Chicago PDThe Chi, and Empire. This one-of-a-kind student filmmaking experience allows students to use same facilities and equipment as professional filmmakers.

State of the Art Facilities

Distinguishing itself from all other film programs in the United States and formed in alliance with Cinespace Chicago Film Studios, DePaul’s School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) boasts a 32,000 square foot professional production facility located in the heart of Chicago’s booming destination for film and television. At DePaul Cinespace Studios, SCA students learn filmmaking crafts and techniques from highly accomplished faculty and staff on industry-standard equipment mere steps away from high-profile network productions filming on the Cinespace Studios lot.

Award-Winning Student Filmmakers

The mission is threefold: to provide students with opportunities to have direct and meaningful contact with established and emerging innovators and professionals in the field; to raise the national and international profile of the School of Cinematic Arts; and to foster a sense of community among DePaul students, faculty, staff and the professional digital media community at large.
