Steps for Submitting Your Entry
Follow the steps below to submit your script for judging consideration after purchasing a ticket
Step 1: Write Your Script
Using the criteria below, prepare your script and write a scene for your submission
CRITERIA FOR #WRITEASCENE COMP
- Language: Scripts can be in any language, however for wider usage we do ask if possible to provide a second version if you plan on writing in another language outside of English.
- Number of Entries: There is no limit on the number of entries you may submit, however each new entry requires a separate ticket.
- Number of Characters: Scenes can only have one or two characters max
- Genre: Scenes can be from any genre.
- ScriptLength: 3-5 pages in length
- Explicit Content: Keep scenes as PG and accessible to all audiences as possible. We understand some scenes call for explicit material, if necessary use such material in sparring amounts.
- Original scripts only.
- Format: Industry format is recommended. This includes: standard screenplay format, 12-point courier font
- Resubmission: Scripts are eligible for resubmission, we recommend revising or redrafting to maximize the creative potential of the project.
Step 2: Submit Your Scene for Judging
Share your submission with CFM by replying to the ticket order confirmation email you received and attach your script to enter the competition.
RULES FOR #WRITEASCENE COMP
- In order to qualify for submission, an individual must purchase a ticket and receive a confirmation email from CFM of their purchase.
- One submission per ticket. If a contestant would like to submit for another competition month, an additional ticket must be purchased.
- Each submission will be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by our College Filmmakers leadership team.
- The judges will determine the winner and recipient of the specified prize for that month.
- The top 3 submissions will be featured as the script material to be applied and used for Act A Scene Comp.
- The grand prize winners will be awarded our monthly prize.
- Tickets for submission are a non-refundable purchase.
- All purchases are non-refundable including any that fail to submit an entry.
